Timing is everything when it comes to an artist’s campaign and this panel will look at the ways local and international teams must work together when promoting a band. An Australian act may get noticed by an international label who want to develop them after they already have a string of local hits.
Do you start from the beginning, despite the fact the digital realm puts a band’s entire catalogue at the fingertips of fans immediately? Do you pick up from where the band are at now, wasting the opportunity to work those earlier songs? Should artists stop trying to make it at home before working on their international audience and take a worldly approach from the beginning?
