Brett Cottle has been the CEO of APRA AMCOS since 1990, which has more than 90,000 members (songwriters, composers and music publishers).

Brett is also Vice-Chair of CISAC (International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers), a past director of the Australian Copyright Council and the Copyright Law Review Committee and Chair of the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy.

In the 2012 Queen’s Birthday Honours List, Brett was awarded a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia “for service to the performing arts, particularly to songwriters, composers and publishers, through executive roles with copyright protection organisations and to the community.”
