John Kirby is a keyboardist, producer and composer from Los Angeles. He studied jazz arranging and composition under bassist and composer John Clayton. He has been the long time right-hand man of Sebastien Tellier.

He has recently written and recorded with Solange Knowles for A Seat at the Table. Other writing collaborations include Blood Orange, Kirin J. Callinan, Shabazz Palaces and Connan Mockasin.
